Administrator’s Guide¶
The purpose of this “Administrator’s Guide” is to serve as a reference material for all of the settings in the NACVIEW system. On the following pages you will find specifications and technical constraints of fields and options of NACVIEW system.
For the deployment guides, plese see configuration guides & getting started. For assorted tutorials, plese check here.
Administration¶
The Administration category encompasses the core system management and configuration capabilities of NACVIEW, providing administrators with the tools necessary to maintain, monitor, and control the entire platform. This category covers user and access management, system configuration, licensing, and organizational structures that form the foundation of the NACVIEW system’s operation.
Services¶
The Services category encompasses the integration points, authentication mechanisms, and external system connections that enable NACVIEW to function as a comprehensive network access control solution. This category provides the connective tissue between NACVIEW and the broader enterprise infrastructure, supporting various authentication methods, external directories, security systems, and automated enforcement capabilities.
System configuration¶
The System Configuration category encompasses the foundational infrastructure settings, server management, and operational parameters that govern NACVIEW’s behavior and ensure reliable network access control operations. This category provides administrators with the tools to configure the core platform, manage server clusters, establish security credentials, and define system-wide policies.
Networks¶
The Network category encompasses all infrastructure components required for managing network connectivity, IP addressing, and network device management within NACVIEW. This category provides administrators with comprehensive tools to configure, monitor, and maintain the network foundation upon which network access control operates.
Objects¶
The Objects category represents the fundamental entities that NACVIEW manages and controls access for within the enterprise network. This category encompasses all network-accessible entities including users, devices, and their associated credentials, forming the foundation upon which access policies are applied.
Reports¶
The Reports category provides comprehensive event logging and monitoring capabilities across all aspects of NACVIEW’s network access control functionality. This category enables administrators to track, analyze, and audit network activities, security events, and system operations essential for maintaining network security and troubleshooting access issues.
Access Policies¶
Access Policies form the core of the NACVIEW system’s network access control capabilities. This category enables administrators to define, manage, and enforce rules that govern how Identities, Endpoints, MAC addresses, and other network objects are authorized to access the enterprise network.
